As human beings we have a distinctive self-awareness: we can be aware of our thoughts, feelings and perceptions. When we embrace our first-person experiences as unique and limited, we see why we cannot agree about the “world” we see/hear/feel and that we need to learn from our diverse perspectives.
the Center For Real Dialogue
The Center for Real Dialogue is a non-profit organization that was founded and developed by Polly Young-Eisendrath who is a widely-recognized psychologist, Jungian psychoanalyst, and mindfulness teacher.
The Center provides evidence-based training and education for welcoming differences, humanizing conflicts and increasing trust in the face of disagreements.
We teach the skills and methods of Real Dialogue through free podcasts and other public programs, fee-based affordable training for individuals and groups, and continuing education for mental health professionals in Dialogue Therapy.
Polly has published 19 books (translated into 20 languages) including The Cambridge Companion to Jung (co-edited with Terence Dawson), The Self-Esteem Trap and Love Between Equals. Her most recent book, co-authored with Jean Pieniadz, is Dialogue Therapy for Couples and Real Dialogue for Opposing Sides.
Waking Up is Not Enough: Flourishing in the Human Space
Whether you awaken through meditation, Near-Death Experience, ingesting a mind-altering drug, or being born again, you still return to your messy life. In this podcast, Polly and Michael Berger talk with scientists, spiritual teachers, and other experts about how awakening connects to a new path for development on which waking up is important, but not enough, and growing up is never finished.
